Traditional Chinese medicine is a bro- ad range of medicine practices in China, based on a tradition of more than 2,000 years, including various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, exercise, and dietary therapy.


Traditional Chinese medicine holds that the body’s vital energy circulates through channels, called meridians, which have branches connected to bodily organs and functions.


The doctrines of Chinese medicine are rooted in books such as the Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon and the Treatise on Cold Damage, as well as in cosmological notions such as Yin-Yang and the Wu Xing.
There are numerous famous doctors in Chinese history,such as Bian Que,Hua Tuo,Zhang Zhongjing,Sun Simiao,Li Shizhen,who relieved patients of pain with their consummate medical skills.


Bian Que was a famous physician in the Warring States Period. He was a native of the State of Qi.His real name is said to be Qin Yueren,and his medical skills were so amazing that the people gave him the same name as the legendary doctor Bian Que,from the time of the Yellow Emperor.He excelled in pulse taking and acupuncture therapy.He is ascribed the authorship.of Bian Que Nanjing.Bian Que advocated the four-step diagnoses of “Looking,Listening,Inquiring,and Taking.”He is honored as the “founder of Chinese traditional medicine”.
Hua Tuo is a famous physician of the Eastern Han Dynasty.He created the Five-Animal Exercises,in which one imitates the actions of tigers,deer,bears,apes,and birds.Hua Tuo’s greatest achievement was in surgery,he invented the general anesthetic herb solution for the surgery.He is considered as the”first surgeon in China”.
