Apak Hoja Tomb,commonly known as Hezhuo Tomb(”Hezhuo”refers to the call to the old feudal upper class of Islam in some areas of Xinjiang)or Xiangfei Tomb,located in the Aizirete Village about 5km away the eastern suburbs of today’s Kashgar City and built in 1640,is the largest and the most significant Islam”Hoja”(i.e.,saint descendants)tomb and the family cemetery of five generations containing 72 people of Apak Hezhuo family,the leader of Islam Baishan Group in southern Xinjiang.This tomb,located in the Aizirete Valliage 5km away from the eastern suburb of today’s Kashi City,was early built in 1640.

This ancient building with typical Islamic style is composed with five parts,the gatehouse,large and small mosque,and scripture-teaching church and main coffin chamber.The gatehouse is beautifully decorated,the west door of which is connected a small mosque,while in the west of the cemetery,there is a large mosque and to the north is a dome roof scripture-teaching church with the east main coffin chamber as the main building of the architectural complex.There is a huge cylinder half-embedded respectively in the walls in four corners of the main coffin chamber,whose circular arch roof is designed with a diameter of 17m and where a dozen of grave mounds are placed.The whole main coffin chamber,decorated with colorful glazed bricks,is solemn and noble,which is one of the Xinjiang Key Cultural Relics Protection Sites.
