Winding Stitch, is a technique which splits the silk line into two and use one to round the other like a vine round a pillar, so a flexible and stronger line is made. Then this line is put on the embroidered surface according to the pattern to form the decoration.It is found in Western Guizhou with many varieties.
Horsetail Stitch
Horsetail Stitch or Ponytail Stitch, is the same technique as the Winding Stitch, and the only difference is the pillar line is not the silk but pony tail hair This special line will form the contour of the pattern or in twisted shape for decoration.
Coiling Stitch
Coiling Stitch is a technique which uses specific lines different Miao branches using line of different materials to form a specific shape according to the needs of the contour, then sewing it to the cloth for decorating.
