The Ulanbay Ancient City,located about 10km away from southern suburbs of today’s Urumqi,is a fairly complete ancient city relic well preserved and an autonomous region-level cultural relic protection site.The Ulanbay Ancient City is believed to be the old city of Luntai County in Tang Zhenguan Twenty.

-second Year(AD 648)by most experts,acting as the only taxation city,management city and supplement city on the Ancient Silk Road.The Ulanbay Ancient City was built with a north and south length of 550m,east and westlength of 450m and walls of about 4m and abandoned about at the end of the Yuan Dynasty according to research,where potteries and coins and so on were unearthed.
