The ruins of yotkan is located in yotkan village of bagegi town about 15km southwest of today’s Hetian. It is a building group built in the 3 to 8th centuries.

Jade, gold leaves, golden Buddhist statues, ceramic Buddhist statues and a great number of coils were unearthed here. Some people regard it as the temple relic. A small golden duck and a”Qian Yuan Zhong Bao”coin of the ang Dynasty were unearthed in 1959.

The golden duck was exquisite, and its shape was similar to that of the duck in Tang murals in the dunhuang Thousand-Buddha Cave. Swedish archaeologist Sven Hedin once excavated a Christian gold coin, a cross and a gold medal here, which indicates that two churchmen once came here to preach the Christianity in the existence period of the relic.

It further proves that the relic is the one of important influence Now, the relic is the district-level key cultural relic protection unit of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
