Karamay Qing Dynasty Relic
1 min readThe Karamay in Qing Dynasty Relic is located in a desert zone about 25kI outheast of today’s Karamay City. Here, the terrain is flat, and there are a lot of low dunes and some withered sacsaouls and plants there is a southwest northeast dry riverbed in the relic, and the relic is located on two sides of the river.
The area of the Karamay Qing Dynasty Relic is about 2, 500m. A lot of collapsed house walls made of adobe bricks and wooden components of the houses can be seen here and there on the earth’s surface. there are channel sites which have been intermittently eroded by the wind and sand. A seriously rotten coffin and incomplete human bones were once discovered in the east of the relic. A lot of relic specimen pieces belonging to the Qing Dynasty, such as glazed potteries, porcelains, copper ornaments, coins, glass beads, iron axes, and vehicle axle components were scattered on the earth’s surface of the relic All the specimens have typical features of the Qing Dynasty. In addition, cattle and sheep bones and feces were also scattered on the ground.
The Karamay Qing Dynasty Relic is of great importance to the study of the early human activity area and the natural ecological environment transition in north Xinjiang.
