1 min readacing the Cotai area, the new campus of the University of Macao is roughly 20 times the size of its home campus, and is the first of many possible projects being considered by the government of Macao to be launched in Hengqin. With Macao law to be applied within the new campus, the project would also be a beautiful presentation of Hengqin as ‘an SEZ inside an SEZ’. Chimelong International Ocean Resort, Henggin ith an initial investment of 20 billion yuan and based in the island’s Southern Tourist Zone,Chimelong Resort is a world-class tourism brand launched in 2014 and run by Chimelong Group Co., Ltd, a conglomerate founded in 1989 that owns and operates theme parks, luxury hotels, convention centers, high-end restaurants and leisure entertainment businesses.
The Hengqin resort comprises theme parks luxury hotels, business conferences and exhibition halls, tourism, shopping, and sports and leisure facilities.
The Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, consisting of entertainment facilities, amusement rides, performances,high-tech experiences and animal watching as well as the dolphin-themed hotel with 1,888 guest rooms, was opened in 2014.
