Five Major Projects

Key to the success of the Xijiang River Golden Waterway are the following five major projects:

1.The Youjiang River Naji Shipping Hub, the Yuliang, Laokou and Datengxia water-control projects and the Yongning Cascade Hydro Station begun in 2009;

2. Preliminary construction of the Guigang-Wuzhe-2,ooo- ton Waterway the Youjiang River 1, 000-ton Waterway, and the 500-ton channels of the Liujiang and Qianjiang rivers;

3.Promotion of port development relying on port industry and focusing on logistics accelerating the construction of major ports in Nanning, Guigang and Wuzhou as well as regional ports of Baise, Laibin, Liuzhou and Chongzuo improvement of port collection and transmission systems;

4.Standardization, specialization and up-scaling of transport vessels; promotion of direct river-sea transport; improvement of shipping efficiency;

5.Application of information technology in port management digitalization of waterway management.
