About the Zhuhai

In 1990,a newly discovered asteroid, numbered “2903”, was named “Zhuhai”by the Purple Mountain Observatory (PMO) in Nanjing, China. It was the first time PMO named an asteroid after a Chinese city.
In a similar manner as this astronomical object orbiting the Sun，its namesake-Zhuhai-is like a new star in the universe that was rediscovered in 1979，and has been releasing its boundless，pent-up energy non-stop ever since.

Zhuhai’s progress is relentless. Grand schemes are reconfiguring the urban landscape and forever reshaping the skyline. Gaze out from the top of one of the skyscrapers in the city’s Shizimen Central Business District, and you’ ll see vast, vibrant coasts that seem to go on forever.

Zhuhai is the proud, permanent host of China’s only air show, held biennially in early November of even years, in the city’s Aviation Town-the embodiment of Zhuhai’s journey into the future.
