Yellow and Yangtze rivers-mother rivers

1 min read

In the long history of the Chinese nation, the Yangtze River (6, 380 kilometers)and Yellow River (5, 464 kilometers), Chinese mother rivers, gave birth to the great Chinese civilization. The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River extend 205 kilometers from the western Baidi City to the Nanjinguan Pass in the east.

For Baidi City, as the greatest romantic poet of the Tang Dynasty, Li Bai (AD 701-762), described in his widely known poem, “Baidi City left at dawn in the morning-glow of the clouds; the thousand li to Jiangling we sailed in a single day. On either shore the gibbons’’ chatter sounded without pause, while my light boat skimmed past thousand mountains.

The Yangtze River is the longest river in China and also the origin of the splendid Chinese culture. Currently the world-famous Three Gorges Power Project has already been erected on the scenic Yangtze River.
