Located about 56 miles north of Hohhot，Xilamuren Grassland is the first grassland kind of tourist attraction opened to the public in Hohhot.The best time for travelling here is summer and autumn when the pleasant climate，the blue sky and white clouds，the rolling grass，the wandering flocks and herds，the passionate herdsmen and the delicious Mongolian food will absolutely impress you deeply.Duringthe Nadam Festival in each summer，tourists can take part in various activities like camel riding，horse racing，wrestling，archery，a camp fire party and singing anddancing.You can also join in some competitions as you like.Besides，there is a Lama Temple built in the Qing Dynasty（1644~1911）Puhui Temple which is strongly suggested to be visited.It used to be the temporary palace for the sixth Xilituzhao.Nowadays it is a complex of 3 halls with carved ceilings and painted beams.Moreover，the beautiful Xilamuren River runs around the temple，creating peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
