Wugong Temples are about 3.1 miles away from the center of Haikou.They areattractive and amazing construction of Ming dynasty style.These temples ar dedicated to 5 officials banished to Hainan during the Tang dynasty because of their criticism to the government in their works.Besides,the famous poet Su Dongpo of Song Dynasty was also banished to this place and is memorized here as well.These temples went through restorations and extensions during different dynasties period,so nowadays it includes gardens,ponds and pavilions which make the complex compound more beautiful and charming.Wugong Temples are pointed to the Wugong Temple(Five officials’Temple),the Sugong Temple,Two Fubo Temples,and Guanjia Tang(Watching Crop Hall),and Xuepu Tang(Studying Hall).The five temples occupy an area of about 2,800 square meters(about 0.69 acres).
