4 min readWhile in Hainan，you are in a world of sea.You will feel regretful if you miss to watch the sea，listen to the sound of waves，play on the beach or swim in the sea.When we get to the spot-the Holiday Beach ide，all of these will be experienced by you.The Holiday Beachside Resort is an open public 4A scenic zone.It locates in the northwest of Haikou；Qiongzhou Strait，the third widest strait in China，is on its north.The beach zone reaches the unique national panel for winter training base-Xixiu Beach on its east，and on the south is Binhai Avenue.Its length is 7 kilometers and its land area is about 33 hectares.Ten-minute driving can get to the center of Haikou.
The Holiday Beachside Resort is a great choice for relaxation to Haikou citizens，and it is also the pride of the government and favoured by local people.In the July of 1995，with the support of the Haikou government，the Holiday Beachside Resort was established.In the same year，the event named “1995-100 Thousand Citizens Mid-autumn Festival Moon Watch on the Beach”successfully took place in the resort.It was the prelude to a variety of large events in the Holiday Beachside Resort.It has become the first venue choice for the succession of various contests and activities organized by the government and enterprises，such as 1996 National Beach Volleyball Final，five successive successful Cross-Qiongzhou Strait Boating Contests from 2000 to2004，2006 Haikou Skating Show for the Application and Creation of Guinness World Record，20061st Hainan Skating Contest，2007 National Speed Skating Open and National Skating Marathon Open，2007 West Coast Skating Entertaining Show，2007 Youthful Beauty&Passionate Beach Square Gala，2008 National Speed Skating Open，and 2008 Olympic Torch Relay.These events greatly enriched the sports and culture life of the Haikou citizens as well asdisplayed the spiritual civilization of this tropical island city of China.The Holiday Beachside Resort consists of three parts:Xixiu Beach Park，the Theater of Image of Hainan and Holiday Beach.
Xixiu Beach Park: During our journey, our high green beach soldiers-forest of casuarinas equisetifolia are coming into our eyes firstly. Here, we are in Xixiu Beach Park, one of the eight most attractive scenic spots in Haikou. Xixiu Beach Park is just 6 kilometers from the center of Haikou City. The coastline is almost 1,200 meters long. You can enjoy the view of the park from far on a ship on Qiongzhou Strait. The beach is gentle and the sea is clean.
Once, many athletes have realized their dreams here. We can say there is a half of the rewards to Xixiu Beach Park for its contributions. The Xixiu Beach Park covers about 66,700 square meters. The seawater here is of the standard of the national II level with a hot spring of 49.5C. Every year, around 300 swimming athletes come here to have their winter training for about 4-5 months. So far, the Beach has become an international sailing training base, an international yacht club and a Chinese Lido. Xixiu Beach Park is not only a training base but also a public swimming place. It is a comprehensive seashore resort including water sports and beach barbeque. The public seashore natatorium and the aquatic sports center performance hall (playing water paradise) invite European and American professionals to perform water ballei and diving every year. There are seafood for dining, leisure vacation guesthouse, etc. There are also musical fountain square, ecology square, parking lot, skating rink, cactus garden, children’s center and so on.
On Xixiu Beach, you can play in the shallow water region. If you can swim，you can go to the deeper region to experience another kind of fun.Here you can enjoy yourself totally.After playing，you can lie on the beach hearing the sound of waves，or sit down chatting while eating barbeque.
