TEAS

1 min read

Tea, what we call cha in China, usually refers to an infusion made with the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, which is drunk without milk, sugar, or other additives.

In China this refreshing drink accompanies meals and, indeed, the activities of most people’s entire day.The following infusions are made from other ingredients in addition to tea leaves. They have specific medicinal properties but, if you like their flavor, they may also be enjoyed simply as beverages.

The proportions given in most recipes are for one person. Note that you should always cover the cup or pot when steeping or brewing the tea, lest the volatile oils and other active ingredients escape into the air.
