Seven-Pagoda Temple in Ningbo

The Seven-Pagoda Temple is named after the seven pagodas before the temple.

It is located in the East Baizhang Road in Ningbo City. The temple was originally built in 858 in the Tang Dynasty. The first abbot of the temple was Master Xinjing.

In most of the temples in China, the Main Hall enshrines the statue of Sakyamuni in the front and the statue of Guanyin in the back,or sometimes Guanyin resides in an individual hall. But the Seven-Pagoda Temple is different,as the Thousand-Hand Guanyin is installed in the front of the Main Hall.

In the temple, people can find Bell Tower ,Hall of Buddhist Rites ,Library of Sutras, and so on.Seven-Pagoda Temple is now one of the four famous Buddhist monasteries in east Zhejiang Province, with the other three being Tiantong Temple ,King Asoka Temple and Guanzong Temple.
