Welcome to Meiling!Meiling is situated in the Wangli District of Nanchang.It was originally called Feihong Hill.

It is an offshoot of Mount Jiuling and the landscape here is very quiet and beautiful.In the Western Han Dynasty,Mei Fu,the magistrate of Nanchang County,gave up his official position and renounced the world on the hill.People renamed it Meiling in memory of him.

With the area of 150 square km,there are a lot of scenic spots on the hill:Meixian Terrace,Meixian Temple,Xiyao Lake,Luohan Peak,Lion Peak,Ziyang Hill,Wind and Rain Pond etc.Among them,Hongya Danjing and Xishan Jicui have already been listed into the ten good scenic spots in Jiangxi.

Nanchang was called Hongzhou or Hongdu,which is related to the name of Hongya Danjing.There are a lot of hills in Meiling Scenic Area,which is full of plum blossoms and bamboos.The sceneries are beautiful everywhere and temples stand like trees.The most famous one is the Zaiyan Temple.Originally there was a copper statue of Sakyamuni of 5 meters height in this temple.

In the Southern and Northern Dynasty,the emperor of the Southern Tang Dynasty Li Jing was familiar with the pontiff of this temple and he often came here to consult about affairs.After Mei Fu,the famous people such as Ge Hong in the Western Jin Dynasty,Guan Xiu in the Tang Dynasty all once came here to live in seclusion.

In summer the average temperature of Meiling is about 24℃,so Meiling is a good place for summer holiday and travelling.The famous ministers of the Tang Dynasty Zhang Jiuling and Wang Anshi,the ministers of the Song Dynasty Zhou Bida,Ou Yangxiu and Huang Tingjian once visited here for its fame and left many poems to praise Meiling.In summer the average temperature in the Meiling is about 24℃,so Meiling is a good place to have a summer holiday and travel.

In recent years,the beautiful landscapes on the whole hill are still constantly developed.It is believed that after several years,there will be more scenic spots for visiting.
