Huangya which means“yellow cliff”perfectly names this magnificent human creation located in northeastern China.This section of the Great Wall gets its nam due to its nearby yellowish hills and rocks.Originally built around 557 AD,the ancient Huangyaguan section was repaired with bricks for the first time during the Ming Dynasty and for the second time in 1985.Nowadays,this section of the Great Wall serves as a patriotic education and national defense education base.Kinds oi forms of water towers can be seen along the wall,containing the largest tower ofthe entire Great Wall,”Phoenix Tower”and the most unique,”Baguaguan Castle”.With all of its significance in history and architectural brilliance,the Huangyaguan Great Wall can be considered as the structure’s historical library.The pass is a major tourist attraction within Tianjin and was listed as a site of relics protection in 1986.
