Though Chengdu’s weather is temperate,it’s also very humid.During the winter,it feels colder than the actual temperature may lead you to believe and in the summer, the humidity can feel overwhelming when combined with the heat-don’t forget to bring your sun block and sunglasses.

The temperature at the peak of Emei Shan will be a lot cooler than at the bottom.Inthe summer, the peak is cool and breezy compared to the blistering heat below. In the winter the temperature can go well below freezing at the peak.If you stay the night on the mountain,it’s definitely recommended to bring warm clothing,be sure to bring enough if you’re going in the winter.

The admission ticket to the Emei Shan is RMB 120 and some of the temples extra admission tickets are charged. On the mountain, places to go for food are the monasteries, they also offer basic shelter if you plan on spending a night on the mountain.
